Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions of Hire.
Please read this document carefully and be sure that you are happy with the Terms and Conditions before you sign in agreement.
A hard copy should be downloaded, signed and either posted, or scanned and emailed to confirm your acceptance of the terms and conditions.
- Full payment of all items is expected on delivery of the unit.
Failure to provide payment on delivery may result in the hire being declined and loss of deposit.
- Whilst Kangaroo provides safe equipment which is erected in a safe manner, users of these units do so at entirely their own risk.
- Supervisors should ensure that users are aware of this and that no irresponsible behaviour is entered into.
Bouncy Castles / Bounce Houses / Ball Ponds / Inflatable Slides / Bungee run :
A responsible adult must supervise the equipment at all times and ensure that the equipment is being used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Kangaroo will provide safety matting for the entrances / exits of the above units.
All units can be used by ages up to and including age 16 with the exception of the Activity Centre and the Mini Bouncer. Adult usage can be requested on the Large 'A' Frame units only at an additional premium....
It is the hirees responsibility to ensure that the venue is suitable for the equipment being hired . Whilst we will give advice on what is required from a venue ,( e.g. height requirement ) if the venue is deemed unsuitable after we have arrived to set up the equipment , the hiree will be liable for the full cost of the hire.
It is the supervisors responsibility to ensure that no persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs be allowed to use this equipment at any time.
It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that users wear suitable clothing, with no part that could restrict the users movements or constrict any part of their body.
It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that users are of a similar size and ability, ensuring that no user is put at risk of harm due to being at a disadvantage.
Under no circumstances should users of greatly differing sizes be allowed on the unit at the same time due to the risk of injury.
The supervisor must ensure that users do not attempt to climb the walls of the unit as this can result in serious injury.
It is strictly prohibited to attempt somersaults on any of the equipment.
This equipment has been designed for indoor / outdoor conditions. However, when wet the equipment may become slippery and therefore increase the possibility of injury to the users. In such cases the equipment should not be used.
It is strictly prohibited to purposely make any of the equipment wet.
In high winds the equipment must be deflated.
In extremely high temperatures the unit surfaces can become very hot. The supervisor must restrict use accordingly as excessively hot surfaces can cause injury.
The hiree must ensure that the blowers are kept dry at all times and that the blower / power supply is never tampered with.
The equipment as stated above should be erected , operated , supervised and used in accordance with the Health and Safety guidelines as set out in HSE PM 76 , a summary of the relevant sections are attached as part of these Terms and Conditions of Hire.
Bungee Run ( In addition to the above )
When using the bungee run , all participants must wear the safety harness as directed by the set –up staff .
When running forward on the bungee run, the user must expect to be pulled backwards when the cord retracts and must be aware that this may result in uncontrolled or awkward landing.
Licensed Premises.
In addition to the above terms, when situated in the grounds of a licensed premises, the inflatable should be in a fenced off / sectioned off area which must be kept free from glass.
General.
A reservation made with Kangaroo will only become a firm booking upon receipt of a £10.00 deposit unless otherwise stated.
If the hiree cancels a booking having paid a deposit , the deposit will be retained by Kangaroo.
If bad weather causes the hire to be cancelled by either party the deposit will be retained by Kangaroo , but can be claimed against a future booking.
A shower cover does not offer complete wet weather protection. If used in heavy or persistent rain the unit will become wet inside.
The principle hirer accepts full and complete responsibility for all loss or damage to all or any of the equipment hired whilst it is in their custody and control. The cost of repairing any damage incurred will be charged to the hiree at Kangaroo’s discretion.
The inflatables are all provided with a copy of the manufacturers specific safety guidelines , the hiree must ensure that these guidelines are adhered to.
HSE PM 76 Summary
Suppliers / erectors responsibility.
It is a condition of the Policy under which the Indemnity is being granted that the following inspection is carried out by the erector and such inspection should include :
a) All anchor points are intact and not damaged.
b) Anchor ropes are not worn or chaffed.
c) Anchor stakes and their location remain sound for continued use.
d) The wall to tower fixings are not torn.
e) There are no holes or rips in the surface or seams of the bed and step / front apron.
f) When fully inflated all walls and towers ( when fitted ) are firm and upright and the pressure in the bed and step / front apron are sufficient to give a reliable and firm footing .
g) The blower has no exposed wires or lose bolts , screws etc. and that the mesh guards over the air inlet and outlet are secured and intact.
h) Electric cables are not worn or chaffed and that plugs , sockets and switches are not damaged.
Hirees / Supervisors Responsibility.
- Ensure that all users remove their footwear ( except socks ) and any other hard , sharp or dangerous objects from their persons such as buckles , pens , purses , etc. Spectacles are best removed.
- Not allow anyone to bounce on step / front apron.
- Not allow anyone to climb or hang on the outside walls.
- Not allow users who are taller than the outside walls when standing on the inflated bouncing surface to use the device.
- The operators should be proactive and use a whistle or other device and take action at the first sign of any misbehaviour.
- Ensure that the equipment is not overloaded.
- Larger or more boisterous children should be segregated from small ones and a number of users at any one time should be limited to the figure which allows each user enough room to play safely.
All inflatable units are supplied with a copy of these terms and conditions, a manufacturer’s current test certificate and relevant operating instructions.
You will also be supplied with an accident / incident folder. Please use this folder to record in detail any occurrence pertinent to the hire of this equipment , particularly if an injury is sustained . Please record the personal details of anyone affected in such an incident.
